The new Research Training Group "Supracolloidal Structures: From Materials to Optical and Electronic Components" (GRK 2767) at Technische Universität Dresden aims to train a new generation of experts who will design materials made of supracolloidal structures from the drawing board to application in components. The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the project with a total volume of around 5 million euros.

In nur zehn Monaten Bauzeit hat die TU Dresden in Eigenregie ein neues, aus 33 vorgefertigten Raumzellen zusammengesetztes Modulgebäude errichtet. Büros und Labore beherbergen auf 1.200 Quadratmetern rund 45 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter der in das Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed) eingebundenen Professur für Molekulare Funktionsmaterialien von Xinliang Feng, der auch am Max-Planck-Institut für Polymerforschung und im Sonderforschungsbereich (SFB) "Chemie der synthetischen zweidimensionalen Materialien" forscht, sowie des Exzellenzclusters Complexity and Topology in Quantum Matter (ct.qmat).

Ausstellung mit wissenschaftlichen Bildern des cfaed in der Altana Galerie eröffnet

In der Altana Galerie der TU Dresden ist seit vergangenem Freitag die neue Ausstellung „Imaging Science – Die Schönheit der Wissenschaft“ zu sehen. Die Schau versammelt einen Monat lang wissenschaftliche Bilder aus den ganz unterschiedlichen Forschungsbereichen des Clusters ‚Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden‘ (cfaed), einer Zentralen Wissenschaftlichen Einrichtung der TUD. Prof. Ursula M. Staudinger, Rektorin der TUD, hob in ihrer Eröffnungsrede die wissenschaftlichen Leistungen des Clusters hervor und ging auf die engen Bezüge von Wissenschaft und Kunst ein. Die rund 70 gezeigten Werke sind eine Auswahl aus fünf Jahrgängen der Cluster-internen ‚Scientific Image Contests‘ des cfaed.
