We had a wonderful time and great joy running the 23rd Dresden Microelectronics Academy (DMA) - the chipmaking summer school! The fantastic group was forming a team starting day 1. A special addition were the new doctoral students from Collaborative Research Center/Transregio "Active-3D" joining in. Here you can find a small album as a visual wrap-up for this unique event:

We feel always delighted when official university bodies use entries from our annual Scientific Image Contest to design official documents, certificates, and similar items. It shows just how exciting scientific depictions can be and how easily the boundaries between science, art and design can blur in this context.
In the example shown, the motif “C8-BTBT Flower” by Dr. Katherina Haase adorns the certificate of honorary citizenship awarded posthumously to Christiane Schaufler-Münch by TU Dresden in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to science, art and education (read the full announcement here). She was honored for the close and long-standing support of THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION, which she co-founded, and its support for TUD.

Great appreciation for our Chair of Compiler Construction: We are delighted to announce that the Compiler Construction lecture has been honoured with the Teaching Award in the category Best Elective Course for the academic term 2024/25. This distinction was awarded during this year’s OUTPUT.DD to Prof. Jeronimo Castrillon and Dr. Lars Schütze by the Student Council of the Faculty of Computer Science (iFSR), following a faculty-wide vote where all Computer Science students can nominate awardees. Prof. Castrillon: "We are happy for this outstanding recognition and heartfelt thanks to our students for their support."
