Das Dresden Center for Nanoanalysis (DCN) startet ein dreijähriges Projekt zur Erforschung von eindimensionalen Nanodrähten. Die Ergebnisse werden in den Forschungspfaden „Silicon Nanowire“ und „Carbon“ des Center for Advancing Electronics (cfaed) der Technischen Universität (TU) Dresden ausgewertet. Zum 1. Oktober werden drei Projektmitarbeiter, darunter ein „Post-Doc“, ein Doktorand und ein Techniker, ihre Arbeit aufnehmen.

Scientists at the cfaed-partner Nanoelectronic Materials Laboratory (NaMLab gGmbH) have demonstrated the world´s first universal transistor that delivers equal performance for n- and p- type response. They demonstrated an energy efficient CMOS circuit with one single transistor type instead of the two different types used in conventional electronics.

Prof. Dr. Karl Leo is leader of the research path „Organic/Polymer Path” and has been responsible for essential parts of the complete research conception of the cluster of excellence of the Technische Universität (TU) Dresden.
