Dr. Yana Vaynzof has been appointed as a new professor for Novel Electronics Technologies at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering on January 1, 2023. In addition, the multi-award-winning scientist will take over as director of the Institute for Novel Electronics Technologies at the Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW).

Our Transport in Hybrid Materials Group leader Dr. Fabian Paulus was selected as a "TUD Young Investigator". Now he is one of currently 36 TUD scientists having this special status. The "TUD Young Investigator" status strengthens independent junior research group leaders by fostering their integration into the faculties and offering a qualification programme tailored to their particular needs. The status is awarded for a limited time and includes some special rights being normally reserved for professors.

We are happy to announce that two of our cooperating institutions have become members of the DRESDEN-concept research alliance: The NaMLab gGmbH and the Kurt-Schwabe-Institut für Mess- und Sensortechnik Meinsberg e.V. (Kurt Schwabe Institute for Measurement and Sensor Technology Meinsberg - KSI Meinsberg) joined the alliance in the last quarter of 2022.
The DRESDEN-concept research alliance has taken on three new members in one go. In addition to NaMLab and KSI Meinsberg, also the Institute for Saxon History and Folklore (ISGV) became a new member. The alliance now boasts 36 partner institutions, which are working together to develop the research hub in Dresden into a DRESDEN-concept Science and Innovation Campus.

Topic: Molecular manipulation and on-surface synthesis investigations by scanningprobe microscopy at low temperature
The successful candidate will use scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and non-contact atomic force microscopy (AFM) at low and variable temperatures to experimentally investigate the mechanical and electronic properties of single molecules on a supporting surface.
